Frances Harcourt-Brown BVSc FRCVS RCVS Recognised Specialist in Rabbit Medicine and Surgery

 Frances Harcourt-Brown graduated from Liverpool University in 1973 and is a Fellow of the Royal College of Veterinary Surgeons. In partnership with her husband Nigel, Frances owns a small animal practice in the UK She specialises in rabbits, which form approximately 80% of her caseload. Her main interests are Encephalitizoon cuniculi and dental disease. The subject of her Fellowship thesis was Metabolic bone disease as a possible cause of dental disease in pet rabbits. Frances has published several papers in scientific journals and has received the BVA’s William Hunting award and both the BSAVA’s Melton and Dunkin awards for her work. She has also written a book, the ‘Textbook of Rabbit Medicine’, which was a veterinary best seller for Elsevier. Her next project is the second edition.
