Jekl Vladimir

Born: 21.10.1977 in Hlinsko v Čechách

 

Vladimír Jekl graduated with honours from Brno Vet University in 2002.  He obtains a Ph.D. degree in March 2006 and he is an assistant professor from April 2006 on the Avian and Exotic Animal Clinic, Faculty of Veterinary Sciences, University of Veterinary and Pharmaceutical Sciences Brno, Czech Republic. He has published more than 100 papers related to the exotic animal medicine and surgery (14 impacted journals). His current focus involves dental disease in small mammals, internal medicine, diagnostic imaging (endoscopy, radiography) and surgery in exotic animals, especially in small mammals.

He is a member of the Association of Exotic Mammals Veterinarians (AEMV), member of the European Veterinary Dental Society (EVDS), member of the European Association of Zoo and Wildlife Veterinarians (EAZWV), member of the Czech Association of Zoo and Wildlife Veterinarians (CAZWV) and a member of the Czech Small Animal Association (CSAVA).

He fully participates on the common project of Brno and Vienna Vet. University, teaching program for veterinarians - Summer School for Exotic Medicine and is partially involved in ESAVS courses – Exotic Medicine and Surgery. He is actively involved in veterinary care of zoo animals in Zoo Brno, Czech Republic.
